AutoFlight Secures World’s First 2-Ton eVTOL Production Certificate
The milestone enables AutoFlight to scale operations and deploy uncrewed cargo aircraft in real-world applications.

AutoFlight dropped a big announcement on January 26, revealing that it has received the world’s first production certificate (PC) for a 2-ton-class eVTOL aircraft.
The certificate, issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) East China Regional Administration on December 24, 2024, clears the way for the mass production of AutoFlight’s V2000CG CarryAll.
The V2000CG is a fully electric, uncrewed cargo eVTOL aircraft designed for low-altitude logistics, emergency supply transport, and rescue operations.
With a maximum takeoff weight of 2 tons, it offers payload capacity comparable to small helicopters and is aimed at customers such as logistics companies, emergency service providers, and government organizations.
With the production certificate now in hand, AutoFlight plans to ramp up production, certify individual units, and deliver the aircraft to customers.
The company is also focusing on commercial applications for the V2000CG, emphasizing its potential to provide efficient and environmentally friendly solutions for the aerial logistics industry.
Meanwhile, the certification of AutoFlight’s passenger eVTOL model — the five-seater Prosperity — is underway, with the CAAC currently reviewing its Type Certificate (TC) application.
The company is also developing a firefighting variant and counts two UAVs in its portfolio — the Albatross and the White Shark.
Since its founding in 2017, AutoFlight has achieved various milestones, including but not limited to—
A 250.3-kilometer record-setting flight for a 2-ton-class eVTOL on a single charge (March 2023).
The world’s first formation flight of three full-size 2-ton-class eVTOL aircraft (July 2023).
Successful cross-city and cross-sea demonstration flights in the Pearl River Delta (Shenzhen to Zhuhai), as well as a cross-Yangtze River flight in the Yangtze River Delta region near Nanjing (February and August 2024).
Securing the first TC for a 2-ton-class eVTOL cargo version (March 2024).
Delivering its first Prosperity demonstrator aircraft to a customer in Japan (April 2024).
Completing its inaugural demonstration flight in Okayama Prefecture, marking its first successful flight in Japan (December 2024).
Conducting over 10,000 transition flights, testing its eVTOLs in areas such as island logistics, medical transport, and general commercial use.
