EH216-F Conducts Firefighting Demo at Qatar National Day
Last month, the EH216-completed point-to-point flights between Doha Port and Katara Cultural Village.
EHang announced today it showcased its EH216-F firefighting uncrewed eVTOL at Qatar’s National Day celebration, invited by the Ministry of Interior.
This makes EHang the second Chinese eVTOL company to announce participation, following GAC Group’s eVTOL brand GOVY.
The company said the aircraft completed a firefighting and emergency rescue flight demonstration at the Emiri Diwan palace. EHang noted that the EH216-F was the first and only uncrewed eVTOL to conduct a flight demo during the National Day celebrations.
EHang has been active in Qatar and the wider Middle East.
Last month, its EH216-S passenger eVTOL completed point-to-point flights between Doha Port and Katara Cultural Village, reducing the original 30-minute land journey to eight minutes.
The company also previously conducted the first passenger-carrying eVTOL flight in the UAE and is actively promoting cooperation between local civil aviation authorities and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to facilitate commercialization of uncrewed aircraft.
The EH216-F is designed for emergency rescue and firefighting and can reach altitudes of up to 600 meters (approximately 1,970 feet) for operational use, including high-rise building scenarios.
EHang stated that the aircraft is intended to complement its passenger transport eVTOLs, forming a system for both low-altitude passenger transport and emergency response.
The company added that its eVTOL activities in the Middle East align with Qatar’s transportation and urban development objectives outlined in the National Vision 2030 framework.
