EHang Conducts First EH216-S "Human-Carrying" Flight in Indonesia
The flight follows a prior autonomous test in Bali in November 2021.
EHang announced on June 25 that its EH216-S autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV) successfully completed its first “human-carrying” flight in Indonesia, with approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and support from the Ministry of Transportation.
The flight was conducted at Phantom Ground Park in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2, Tangerang, Banten.

Among the passengers were Prestige Aviation Executive Chairman Rudy Salim and Presidential Special Envoy Raffi Ahmad. The event was also attended by government officials, aviation industry representatives, and members of the media.
According to EHang, former Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo expressed support for the development of autonomous air transport in Indonesia, emphasizing its potential to drive innovation in the aviation sector.
Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations Sohib Al Rohman welcomed the introduction of advanced aviation technologies and underscored the importance of continued regulatory cooperation.
Presidential Special Envoy Raffi Ahmad highlighted the aircraft’s potential to offer greener and more efficient transportation solutions in Indonesia’s heavily congested urban areas.
EHang said it will continue collaborating with Indonesian regulators and industry stakeholders to support certification efforts and explore applications in tourism, emergency response, and urban mobility.
This is not the first time the EH216 has flown in Indonesia.
Prestige Aviation, a subsidiary of Prestige Corp., had previously purchased one unit and conducted an autonomous demonstration flight without passengers in Bali in 2021.
In 2022, Prestige carried out another passenger-free demo flight and placed a pre-order for 100 EH216 units. Signed during the Indonesia International Motor Show, the order was the largest EHang had received in Asia at the time.
According to Investing.com, EHang Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ: EH) stock rose 3.2% following today’s announcement.
