ICAO-Led Delegation Visits EHang HQ
EHang continues its eVTOL diplomacy streak with a visit from international navigation commissioners.
EHang announced on July 20 that Liang Junrong, Chairman of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Air Navigation Commission, along with Navigation Commissioners from several countries, visited the company’s headquarters in Guangzhou on July 18 for a tour and symposium.
The delegation included Navigation Commissioners from Canada, Spain, Uganda, France, Saudi Arabia, Côte d'Ivoire, Singapore, Germany, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Argentina, the Netherlands, Russia, and Brazil.
They were accompanied by Chen Wei, Director General of the International Affairs Department of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC); Xi Yadong, Deputy Director of the CAAC Central and Southern Regional Administration; and other CAAC officials.
During the visit, the delegation reviewed EHang’s progress in UAS and the low-altitude economy. They discussed topics such as eVTOL technology, flight operation standards, and commercial regulations with the company’s senior management and technical teams.
Wang Zhao, EHang’s Chief Operating Officer, also shared the company’s plans for applications in air mobility, aerial tourism, logistics, and smart city management, highlighting the EH216-S.
The delegation visited the EHang Future City Suigang Wharf Flight Test Base in Guangzhou — one of the first operational sites for the EH216-S — where they observed the flight environment, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
EHang’s flight operations command center was another stop, where the delegation was briefed on the company’s UAS command and dispatch solutions.
Liang Junrong stated that the visit provided valuable insights for ICAO’s work on global operational standards for advanced air mobility and expressed confidence in the safe operation and development of eVTOL technology.
Chen Wei of the CAAC emphasized China’s commitment to the low-altitude economy and expressed hope for strengthened cooperation with ICAO based on the experiences of Chinese eVTOL enterprises.
Wang Zhao said EHang remains focused on innovation and international collaboration, aiming to contribute to the global development of urban air mobility through shared technology and standards.
