Serbia, ARIDGE Eyes Low-Altitude Hub
The 2027 Belgrade Expo could anchor a low-altitude economy zone.
The 2027 Belgrade World Expo could become the launchpad for the first national‑level low‑altitude economy smart demonstration zone in Central and Eastern Europe, according to ARIDGE.
The company’s founder Zhao Deli met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on May 26 during the president’s state visit to China, with the two sides reaching a cooperation intention to use the Expo to jointly build the zone.
The project would also establish a low‑altitude economy hub for R&D testing, demonstration operations, talent training, and standard exports, with potential reach across Europe, the manufacturer said.

ARIDGE added that the President Vučić invited the company to participate in Serbia’s low‑altitude route pilot project as part of the proposed demonstration zone.
The project would include demonstration flights, testing trials, operator training, and factory investment, with the Serbian side offering streamlined certification and support in land, financing, regulations, and policy.
Founder Zhao Deli said ARIDGE would rely on its technology, systems, and long‑term investment to support the export of low‑altitude economy models, noting that the cooperation aims to strengthen China-Serbia ties and contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative through technology innovation.
Serbia’s Low‑altitude Route Pilot Project
Official Serbian news agency Tanjug reported that President Vučić met with representatives of HBIS Group Co., Ltd. (the Chinese state‑owned steel producer that operates Serbia’s Smederevo steel mill), Bank of China, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) (the SOE overseeing China’s nuclear power sector), and ARIDGE on the third day of his visit to discuss opportunities for cooperation and potential projects.
