For those working in Chengdu’s UAV industry, the Chengdu Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau recently announced the application process for the 2025 Special Policy Project to Promote High-Quality Development of the Industrial UAV Industry.

The initiative continues Chengdu’s efforts to strengthen advanced manufacturing and accelerate growth in the UAV sector. The 2025 policy provides targeted financial support across the industry chain, including:

  • Rewards for expanding UAV product sales

  • Support for collaborative component supply to complete UAV manufacturers

  • Incentives for UAV application services in sectors such as power, emergency response, and agriculture

  • Funding for shared R&D and testing resources

  • Subsidies for establishing UAV test flight bases

The guidelines also emphasize fair allocation: no duplicate subsidies for the same expenditure, total government funding generally capped at 50% of project costs, and a minimum threshold of RMB 100,000 for rewards.

Let’s get into it.
