TCab Tech Lands $1B eVTOL Deal with UAE’s Autocraft
The agreement aims to support the deployment of eVTOL aircraft across the MENA region.
On July 16, Chinese eVTOL manufacturer TCab Tech announced a landmark procurement agreement with UAE-based enterprise Autocraft.
Valued at US$1 billion, the deal includes the purchase of 350 units of TCab Tech’s flagship E20 eVTOL aircraft, marking one of the largest international orders for urban air mobility (UAM) vehicles to date.
The agreement aims to support the deployment of eVTOL aircraft across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with initial applications focused on low-altitude tourism, advanced air mobility, and other innovative use cases.
The two sides plan to scale operations jointly and explore broader applications of the E20 platform.
A signing ceremony was held at TCab Tech’s headquarters in Shanghai, attended by senior officials from both nations.
Dignitaries included His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and His Excellency Mohannad Alnakbi, UAE Consul General in Shanghai. TCab Tech was represented by its Founder and CEO Huang Yongwei, along with other key executives..
According to TCab Tech, Autocraft—which the company described as having a strong interest in emerging technologies—plans to leverage its regional experience and infrastructure to integrate the E20 into a range of mobility scenarios across the MENA region.
The manufacturer added that it will provide aircraft design, manufacturing, and system integration support to enable the E20’s adaptation to local market needs.
In parallel with the commercial partnership, TCab Tech said it held technical discussions with the UAE GCAA focused on airworthiness certification, regulatory alignment, and operational procedures.
The talks aim to lay the groundwork for eventual certification and deployment of the E20 within the UAE.
TCab Tech noted that the agreement reflects growing China-UAE collaboration in aviation technologies, aligning with broader economic frameworks such as the Belt and Road Initiative.
Both parties view the partnership as a strategic step toward accelerating the commercialization of eVTOL technologies across the region, the company said.
The major order follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in November 2024 at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which laid the groundwork for exploring commercial E20 operations in the UAE, initially targeting aerial sightseeing and air taxi services.
