Volant Lands Key Deals at Aero Asia
Aero Asia 2025 sees Volant ink two agreements to further the VE25-100 program.
One of my regrets from Aero Asia 2025 is not having enough time to sit down with Volant Aerotech. They showcased a stunning aircraft model — the VE25-100 — with striking panoramic windows and even inked some deals.
I’ve covered them previously for Vertical Flight Society, Aviation Week and Aviation International News, and I’ll be connecting with them soon for another piece.
On the deal front, Volant signed agreements with CALB (China Aviation Lithium Battery) and Santroll (松正航空动力) on the first day of the show, November 27.
The partnership with CALB, focusing on the VE25-100 project, includes applied research on high-strength materials, pre-research on next-generation battery technologies, and initiatives in green aviation such as battery recycling, carbon footprint management, and clean energy applications.
According to Volant, both companies aim to advance “zero-carbon batteries” for eVTOL aircraft and improve service through a shared network for battery testing, maintenance, and replacement.
Separately, the eVTOL maker signed a main supply contract with Santroll to support the development and airworthiness certification review of the VE25-100’s electric power system.
Santroll has previously collaborated closely with Volant on the project.
The company, a subsidiary of Tianjin Songzheng Holding (天津松正控股), develops electric drive systems for eVTOL applications, including urban air mobility, cargo transport, tourism, firefighting, and industrial inspection.

Today, Volant announced it had been included in the “2025 Shanghai Top 50 Most Investable Startups” list, the latest accolade following recognition of the VE25-100 at the 2025 Fortune China Best Design Awards on December 2 in Macau.
The Shanghai Top 50 Most Investable Startups list, unveiled December 8, highlights leading startups with strong growth potential. Volant said it is the only company in the low-altitude aviation sector on the list.
Selected companies join the Shanghai Key Cultivation Startup Enterprise Database and gain access to nearly 100 member units from local equity investment associations to explore potential funding opportunities.
The selection process involved a blind review of over 100 companies by a panel of ten investors from institutions including GP Capital, DT Capital, and the Shanghai Free Trade Zone Fund, alongside due diligence conducted by professional credit agencies.
Against this backdrop, Volant’s VE25-100 has entered an advanced stage of airworthiness certification and secured over 1,900 global orders worth more than 47.5 billion RMB (roughly 6.72 billion USD).
For paid subscribers, an upcoming post will provide a list of Volant’s suppliers. For Aero Asia 2025 coverage, see here at AIN.
