VoloXpro Clinches CAAC Flight Permit
Approval advances certification as Volocopter plans European sandbox trials.
Wanfeng Auto Holding Group announced that Volocopter’s VoloXpro officially received a Special Flight Permit from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) East China Regional Administration on November 19.
In a November 21 announcement, the group said the approval marks progress in airworthiness certification and commercialization, with the VoloXpro set to begin a nationwide demonstration tour in China.
No further permit details were disclosed.

The news follows Volocopter’s November 18 statement that it will start a European sandbox program in 2026 to test the VoloCity and VoloXpro aircraft under near-commercial conditions.
The program will assess operational readiness and support type certification through point-to-point flight trials, replicating flight procedures, ground operations, and passenger experiences for the VoloCity, as well as urban and regional use cases for the VoloXpro.
ADAC Luftrettung, Volocopter’s long-term partner, will join selected missions to explore the use of eVTOL aircraft in emergency medical services and to prepare for pilot trials in designated regions.
