Zhejiang: Low-altitude + Agriculture
As early as 2007, Zhejiang began utilizing agricultural drones for crop protection tasks.

Agriculture has long been a cornerstone of China's economy, providing food security, rural employment, and a foundation for sustainable development.
In recent years, the integration of drones has dramatically shaped traditional farming practices, enabling precision agriculture, efficient crop monitoring, and streamlined logistics. This move has significantly boosted productivity and reduced costs for local farmers.
Recognizing this, several Chinese provinces have introduced new plans and support measures for 2025, including subsidies, to promote the development of the low-altitude economy in agriculture.
This report examines the recently released Zhejiang Province Low-Altitude Economy Development Action Plan for Agriculture and Rural Areas.
Issued on February 17, the Action Plan seeks to expand the use of 'low-altitude + agriculture' and accelerate the growth of new productive forces within the low-altitude economy in agriculture and rural areas, positioning Zhejiang as a leader in agricultural and rural modernization.
Interesting to note — Zhejiang has been one of China's pioneer provinces in adopting agricultural drones. As early as 2007, the province began utilizing drones for crop protection tasks.
By the end of 2023, Zhejiang had deployed 6,847 uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) for plant protection, covering an area of 9.56 million acres of major crops such as rice and wheat.
Today, the use of UAVs for plant protection, field management, and other agricultural tasks in Zhejiang is well-established.
Let’s get into Zhejiang’s agriculture plan.
