Uncrewed Systems Aid Shenzhou-20 Recovery
Another UAV company has confirmed its role.
In my January 21 post, I noted China’s space ambitions, which could spur the next “Sputnik moment,” framed against an unpleasant editorial experience and a broader caution to be careful who you talk to and write for.
However, I should have made a stronger case for following China’s space efforts, which are remarkable in scale, technical sophistication, and success — and unlike coverage of low-altitude aviation, space news is relatively accessible in English.
With Beijing pushing integration, we are seeing automotive technologies influence aviation, and vice versa, and we’re seeing uncrewed vehicle technologies extend into space operations.
In line with China’s expanding aerospace ambitions, another UAV manufacturer has confirmed its role in the recovery of the Shenzhou-20 spacecraft.
Let’s get into it.
